Raíces del Mundo (Roots of the World) is collaborating with Colectivo Sá’a from Oaxaca, Mexico, to present the first of three First Friday art exhibits at Ravens’ Roost.  October’s First Friday will be a photography exhibit of daily life in Mexico, including photographs by Dale Gardner of Anchorage; Javier Nava of Hidalgo, Mexico; and Becky Roberts, originally a young resident of Ravens’ Roost Cohousing.  Video messages from the subjects of the photography exhibit and from the Mexican artists will be included.

Becky first visited Mexico more than 10 years ago, and it captured her heart. Now, after over five years of living in the country, she is delighted to share part of Mexico with Anchorage residents.  Two more First Friday events featuring Raíces del Mundo art will be on Nov. 1 and Dec. 6 at Ravens’ Roost.
