Ravens’ Roost resident, Tony, who is a retired UAF forestry extension specialist and professor, will host an Arbor Day tree planting event on Sunday, May 21 at 1:00 p.m. The event is tailored to children but adults are encouraged to attend. Tony will present a history of Arbor Day and will involve children in planting a ten foot white spruce tree. He’ll also have a limited number of white spruce seedlings to present to the helpers. This will be a great event with someone who has a demonstrated passion for educating, so please save the date and plan to attend. Light refreshments will be available. Meet us at the Common House at 1:00 p.m. GPS and map apps might not know our address yet, so you can use 3447 Abbott Road, which will take you to Little Brook Street. Turn onto Little Brook and go straight ahead onto Nuthatch place (as Little Brook turns to the left). The parking lot will be on your right. Bring the whole family!
