Raíces del Mundo (Roots of the World) is collaborating with Colectivo Sá’a from Oaxaca, Mexico, to present the second in a series of First Friday International Art Exhibits at Ravens’ Roost. For November’s exhibit, we are excited to share the Mexican traditions of Day of the Dead, featuring art by world-renowned Mexican artist Miguel Alvarado, as well as Benito de Onésimo, Vicente Hernández and José Feliciano, all from Oaxaca. Video messages from the artists will be included.
The organizer of this series is Becky Roberts, originally a young resident of Ravens’ Roost. Becky first visited Mexico ten years ago, and it captured her heart. Now, after more than five years of living in the country, she is delighted to share part of Mexico with Anchorage residents.
